General info: Pike/Perch
Most probably Lapland is one of the top places in Europe for pike/perch. You´ll find pike/perch everywhere, from the Baltic sea to the foot of the mountains. Most fishing for pike/perch is done by the Baltic coast or in the vast forest region.
You will find endless number of waters in north Sweden. Most effective is spinfishing with jerk, wobblers, spinners, spoons and rubber jigs. But flyfishing for pike is also very effective. The season for pike in Lapland lasts from 4 th week in May-1st week in October. South of Lapland the period can start in mid may to October. The area of Lapland and the endless number of waters, will guarantee You a freedom in fishing that can´t be found, elsewhere in Europe.

General info: Salmon/Seatrout
The Baltic salmon and seatrout reaches the Baltic coast in midMay. The best season for salmon is June (forrest rivers) and Aug 15-Sept 14 in the mountain river Vindelälven. The peak for seatrout is midMay and midAug (by the coast rivers).
Even if the commercial fishing for salmon in the Baltic has decreased rapidly, the sportfishing for salmon in the rivers may be a hard work, when the water is low.
If You only want to fish for salmon/seatrout during the trip, I recommend another destination so far. But if You like to try different types of fishing, including a couple of days for salmon/seatrout, we would like to assist (it may proove very rewarding).
The river Vindelälven though is an exception to the above. The fishing in this river is of a very high quality during 4 weeks (aug-sept) and You have a very good chance of getting in contact with the big Baltic salmon, during a days fishing.

General info: Grayling/Brown Trout
The best area for grayling and trout reaches from the forrest region to the mountain. The closer You get to the mountains, the higher percentage of trout. The season for both of those species starts in midJune and lasts to the beginning of September. If July is very hot, the fishing for trout can be tough, but generally both grayling and trout can be caught during the whole summer.
If You demand really big brown trout, the west part of the river Vindelälven is the best place. The fly fishermen that does not demand 4 lb (2 kg) trout/grayling every day, will find really nice rivers and lakes in the forrest region. Swedish Lapland does not generally keep "Kola-quality" regarding brown trout, which is important knowledge. But some places comes very close and we know them.
